My name is Ally Sass and I am a Boston/New York based playwright, born and raised in Cambridge, Massachusetts. I am currently in my final year of the MFA Playwriting program at Boston University and I hold a BA in Theatre from the University of Vermont. My character-driven work aims to portray complex, hopeful and flawed humans as they navigate their way through funny, terrible, and true circumstances. I inspect what makes me uncomfortable, then try to make friends with it. I hope to do the same for others. I also hope to someday own a chic loft and two lovable pitbulls. Plays include: Modern Beauty (NNPN MFA Playwrights’ Workshop Finalist), Late Night at the Serpent (John Cauble Short Play Award National Semifinalist, New York International Fringe Festival), The Cleanout (John Cauble Short Play Award National Semifinalist, New York New Works Finalist) The Parade (The New York Theater Festival Winterfest, Grupo Teatro Construção in Brazil) Little Jewish Pinwheels (The Archa Theater in Prague, CZ) and Very Good Boys and Other Myths (Boston Playwrights’ Theatre 2021-2022).
